Around-the-clock protection and access
Beneath the elegant 19th century fasade of Auckland's historic Customhouse building lies ASB Vault: a modern-day fortress constructed of steel-reinforced concrete and protected by a sophisticated, multi-stage security system.

The vault complex is monitored by highly trained professionals, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and is designed to exclude all but authorised safe deposit box holders.

Most bank vaults break-ins occur when the site is unmanned and that cannot happen at ASB Vault because our facility is always manned and never closes. So you can rest secure in the knowledge that your valuables are protected by around-the-clock security and yet still accessible to you, 24/7.

Security cameras
Sophisticated electronic surveillance cameras provide 24-hour, digitally-recorded monitoring of the reception foyer, vault lobby, and inside the vault itself. Several unmonitored viewing rooms are also provided in which customers can open their safe deposit boxes in complete privacy.

Security guards
Highly trained security professionals constantly guard ASB Vault, monitoring its surveillance cameras and movement sensors from the safety of a bullet-proof control room. Safe deposit box holders are always escorted into the vault by a security guard.

Fingerprint scanner
To gain access to the vault, safe deposit box holders must identify themselves via a biometric fingerprint scanner and unique PIN code. Only a correct match between the fingerprint scan and the PIN code will trigger entry into a magnetic door mantrap. A security guard manually controls the inner door of the mantrap that leads to the underground vault lobby.

24/7 remote monitoring
As a further level of security for ASB Vault customers and staff, the facility is also monitored around the clock at an external location via digital cameras.

Multiple security layers
ASB Vault actually employs several further layers of state-of-the-art security measures but these must remain confidential even from our customers to ensure the complete security of the facility, its staff, and our customers and valuables.

The vault
A combination-locked door made of seven tonnes of hardened steel protects the entrance to the vault.

Safe deposit box keys
Our safe deposit boxes can only be opened using a dual-key locking mechanism and the box holder inserts one key in the lock while a security guard simultaneously inserts the other key.

Secure underground car parks
A limited number of underground car parks monitored by security cameras and featuring internal access to the vault foyer are available for premium safe deposit box users.
